According to the American Cancer Society almost 2 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year. Fortunately, the number of people in the United States who will succumb to their cancer diagnosis continues to decline. The advances in cancer diagnoses and treatments have a great deal to do with this decline. These advances are due, in large part, the efforts of patients, scientists and clinicians participating in clinical trials.
