Bladder Cancer is most commonly of urothelial origin and so it is described as urothelial or transitional cell cancer. However there have been described more than one histologies. Those include adenocarcinoma, small cell, squamous, nested variant, micropapillary etc. The attempt is now to correlate the prognosis with the specific histology and to direct the treatment accordingly.
